542 East Productions to release 18th Annual Legendary Banked Slalom DVD
BELLINGHAM, Wash., -- February 25, 2002 542 East Productions, a DVD and Digital Video Service company located in the shadow of Mt. Baker, proudly presents the 18th Annual Legendary Banked Slalom DVD. The Legendary Banked Slalom is the longest running snowboarding contest in history. Snowboarders come from around the world to race in this contest; and with an annual snowfall at Mt. Baker of over 1,000 per year, riders get a lot more than just a race. The remote location and infamous harsh weather conditions have kept the media from covering this race in any detailuntil now.
Covering all aspects of the legendary three day weekend, this short feature movie includes the race course from four different angles, interviews with highlighted riders (pros and locals), behind the scenes with Mt. Baker staff, mountain entertainment, and insane freeriding from all around Mt. Baker. Professional snowboarders showcased include Terje Haakonsen, Barrett Christy, Temple Cummins, Victoria Jealouse, Joey McGuire, Tom Burt and more. Local musicians Miget Money, Chicos Paradise, and Panhandle Jumpers serve up live music all weekend. Featuring world class riders with local flare, the Legendary Banked Slalom is the most rider driven, deep snow riding contest around.
Banked Slalom DVD supporters include Vans, LibTech, Flow, RipCurl, Oneil and Burton. Each company will provide marketing materials, including team rider footage that will enhance the DVD project. There will also be links from the DVD to sponsors websites for more exposure.
